Build a dynamic website for a local safari planner / travel agent with a focus on upsell and interlinking content. Built on Bedrock and Sage 9.
My role for Cedarberg Travel online was dynamic as the secondary developer. I focused on bridging the gap between the design agency and what was feasible while creating an amazingly visual website that runs well.
There were several key challenges. Cedarberg has a lot of content showcasing destinations, holidays, accommodations, local experiences and more. Each content type had its unique structure while needing to be well linked to each other.
A lot of focus went into performance - loading high-quality images and fast database queries.
Along with this, we decided to use Gutenberg as the base "builder". This required me to create tons of custom Gutenberg blocks. Nested Gutenberg blocks were vital to unlocking multiple layouts and giving full design control when creating pages.
The result was a high-performing website that is easy to manage by its editors & dynamically interlinks and up-sells its offerings.
